Terms of Service

Effective: September 11, 2026 (supersedes September 3, 2026)

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of UAS SkyCheck at uas-skycheck.app (the “Service”), operated by UAS SkyCheck, a product of SudoKodes LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements. The Service is intended for use in the United States and its territories only.

2. Accounts

You may run a preflight check without creating an account. The Free tier (5 checks a day, one saved location) and the paid tiers require an account, which you create by signing in with Google, facilitated by Supabase. We do not operate email-and-password accounts. You are responsible for the security of the Google account you sign in with and for all activity that occurs under your UAS SkyCheck account. Notify us immediately at admin@sudokodes.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

Updated September 11, 2026. This section said the Free tier needed no account and that accounts could be created with an email and password. Neither describes the software: the first check runs without an account and the second asks you to sign in, and Google is the only sign-in the app offers. The wording now matches.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

UAS SkyCheck offers Free, Pilot, and Captain subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe.

Free trial on Pilot plans. Pilot plans begin with a 30-day free trial. A payment method is required to start the trial and no charge is made during it. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the plan converts automatically to the paid subscription you selected and your payment method is charged at the then-current price. You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Captain plans do not include a trial.

Welcome months for new accounts. An account created on or after October 11, 2026 outside our beta program is placed on the Captain tier for its first month and on the Pilot tier for its second, at no charge and with no payment method on file. From the third month it is on the Free tier unless you subscribe. These months are a grant, not a subscription: nothing converts, nothing is charged, and we may change or end the grant for accounts created later. A subscription you buy at any point applies from its own purchase date and is governed by the terms above; if it grants less than the welcome month you are in, you keep the higher tier until that month ends.

Added September 2026. The trial has always worked this way, and the pricing page, the checkout confirmation and our FAQ have always described it, including that a card is required and that canceling before day 30 avoids the charge. It was missing from this section, which is the document that actually governs the charge. The term itself has not changed: a 30-day free trial, and scripts/check_billing_terms_disclosed.py fails our build if the trial length stated here ever stops matching the number our billing code charges on.

  • Monthly plans renew automatically each month. Your first monthly charge carries a 30-day money-back guarantee: email us within 30 days of it and we refund it in full. Later renewals are not refundable. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Annual plans renew automatically each year. Prorated refunds are available within 30 days of purchase or renewal, which returns roughly 92 to 100 percent of the fee. See our Refund Policy for details.
  • We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days’ advance notice. Continued use of the Service after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
  • All fees are stated in US dollars and are exclusive of any taxes, which are your responsibility.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of FAA regulations or any applicable federal, state, or local law.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, tier gates, or access controls through automated means, credential sharing, or any other method.
  • Scrape, republish, or redistribute Service data in bulk without written permission from SudoKodes LLC.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
  • Transmit malicious code, conduct denial-of-service attacks, or interfere with the operation of the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.

5. Safety and Informational Use Only

UAS SkyCheck is an informational planning tool. It does not constitute FAA authorization to fly. A positive conditions result does not mean you are legally permitted to fly at the indicated location; it means no restrictions were detected in our dataset at the time of the query, and conditions were within acceptable thresholds. You remain solely responsible for verifying all applicable airspace restrictions, obtaining required authorizations, and complying with all FAA regulations and local laws before operating any unmanned aerial system. 6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, text, and data compilations, is owned by SudoKodes LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership interest in the Service. You may use the Service for your own pre-flight planning purposes, including commercial drone operations, subject to these Terms. Bulk redistribution, resale, or embedding of Service data in other products or services without written permission from SudoKodes LLC is prohibited.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers: Stripe (payments), Supabase (authentication and database), Google (sign-in), Vercel (frontend hosting and cookieless web analytics), Render (backend hosting), Open-Meteo (weather forecast data, on a commercial license), the FAA and NOAA (airspace, NOTAM, METAR and space weather data), OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim (naming the place a coordinate falls in), Resend (transactional email), Upstash (cache), and Sentry (backend error monitoring, when enabled). We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or terms of these third-party services. Your use of Stripe is subject to Stripe’s terms.

Updated September 11, 2026. Google and OpenStreetMap were added to this list. Both were already in use: Google is the sign-in provider behind Supabase, and the backend asks OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service to name the locality a set of coordinates falls in. What each receives is described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. AIRSPACE AND WEATHER DATA PRESENTED BY THE SERVICE MAY BE INCOMPLETE, OUTDATED, OR INACCURATE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SUDOKODES LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) $10.00 USD.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions the above limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SudoKodes LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right; or (d) any drone operation you conduct in reliance on information provided by the Service.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, and 13 survive termination.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the email on your account or via an in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising under or relating to these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas. You waive any objection to personal jurisdiction or venue in such courts.

14. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Refund Policy, and Safety Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and SudoKodes LLC with respect to the Service and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver.
