Safety Disclaimer
Effective: March 18, 2026
Important: Read Before Flying
UAS SkyCheck is an informational planning tool. It does not constitute FAA authorization to fly and does not replace the preflight responsibilities required by 14 CFR Part 107 or any other applicable regulation.
1. Not a Substitute for Official Preflight Requirements
All drone pilots operating under FAA regulations are required to conduct a thorough preflight check regardless of what any third-party tool indicates. UAS SkyCheck outputs a safety score and restriction summary to assist your planning. It does not replace:
- FAA LAANC authorization where required.
- Airspace authorization through DroneZone for controlled airspace outside LAANC.
- Review of current NOTAMs via the FAA NOTAM System or 1800wxbrief.com.
- Real-time weather observation and judgment by the pilot-in-command.
- Knowledge and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
2. Data Accuracy and Timeliness
The airspace and restricted zone data presented by UAS SkyCheck is compiled from publicly available FAA and government sources and is updated periodically. However:
- Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) can be issued with little or no advance notice. Always verify TFRs through official FAA channels before flight.
- Weather data is sourced from NOAA and nearest METAR stations. Conditions can change rapidly; the displayed data may not reflect current conditions at your exact location or altitude.
- Restricted zone boundaries shown in the app are approximate. Actual regulatory boundaries are defined in official FAA publications, sectional charts, and the Code of Federal Regulations.
- Data coverage varies by region. Some local restrictions, temporary events, or newly issued TFRs may not be reflected in the app.
3. No FAA Affiliation
UAS SkyCheck is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), any government agency, or any air traffic control authority. A “CLEAR” result from UAS SkyCheck does not constitute FAA authorization to fly.
4. Pilot-in-Command Responsibility
The pilot-in-command (PIC) is solely responsible for the safe operation of their unmanned aerial system. The PIC must exercise independent judgment at all times and must not rely solely on UAS SkyCheck or any other single data source when making a go/no-go decision.
5. Limitation of Liability
SudoKodes LLC expressly disclaims all liability for any flight conducted in reliance on information provided by UAS SkyCheck, including but not limited to FAA enforcement actions, airspace violations, property damage, personal injury, or loss of aircraft. Use of this Service is at your own risk. See our Terms of Service for the full limitation of liability.
6. Official Resources
Always verify with official sources before flying:
- FAA UAS (faa.gov/uas)
- FAA LAANC (faa.gov/pilots/laanc)
- FAA NOTAM System (notams.aim.faa.gov)
- 1800wxbrief.com (FAA Weather Briefing)
- FAA DroneZone (faadronezone-access.faa.gov)
