EDUCATORS
Captain is free for drone educators
12 months, no card, for instructors who teach a drone or UAS course
Part 107 is taught from sectional charts and practice questions. Your students will fly in the real airspace system, where the answer to “can I fly here?” is airspace class, LAANC ceilings, TFRs, NOTAMs and weather all at once. UAS SkyCheck puts that on one screen with a 0-to-100 safety score and the reason for every point it takes off, which makes it a teaching tool as much as a preflight tool.
What you get
- Captain, our top plan, free for 12 months on your own account.
- 20 checks a day, live NOTAMs sorted by relevance, the Automated Advisor and the PDF preflight briefing, which works well projected in class.
- An unlimited flight log, unlimited UAV profiles and Part 107 renewal reminders.
- When the 12 months end, your account moves back to its own plan. Nothing renews and nothing is charged.
Who qualifies
Instructors teaching a drone, UAS or Part 107 course at a US college, university, community college, technical school or high school CTE program, and instructors of recognized workforce or public-safety UAS training. If you are not sure, apply anyway.
How to apply
Step 1. Sign in to UAS SkyCheck once with Google, so your account exists.
Step 2. Email us the details below. We check that the course is real and turn Captain on, usually within two business days.
Apply by email (admin@sudokodes.com). Please include your name, your school or program, the course name and term, a school web page that lists you or the course, the Google account you signed in with, and roughly how many students you teach.
Your students
Every student can run checks on the Free tier (5 a day, signed in, no card). Class access for students is coming next; mention your class size when you apply and we will set your class up first.
